A jury has seen text messages sent from Richard Satchwell’s phone including one in which Tina Satchwell's cousin is offered a chest freezer.
The jury were also shown emails relating to a two-year attempt to purchase two monkeys.
The trial at the Central Criminal Court in Dublin saw text messages between Tina Satchwell’s cousin Sarah Howard and Richard Satchwell in the wake of Tina’s reported disappearance.
On the 30th of March 2017 Mr Satchwell texted: “Sarah do you want our big chest freezer.”
Defence Senior counsel Brendan Grehan asked Det David Kelleher about whether the group emailing from [email protected] ultimately looked like a scam and Det. Kelleher agreed it did.
58-year-old Richard Satchwell of Grattan Street Youghal Co Cork has pleaded not guilty to the murder of his wife at the same address in March 2017.
The trial continues today.
