The Cork actor got the nod for his role in Oppenheimer.

He's up again Bradley Cooper, Colman Domingo, Paul Giamatti and Jeffrey Wright for the Oscar.

However there is Irish disappointment in the category as Andrew Scott and Barry Keoghan missed out on nominations.

Paul Mescal missed out on a nomination in Best Supporting Actor for his role in All Of Us Strangers.

There's also eleven nominations for Poor Things - which was co-produced by a Dublin company.

As expected the nominations have been dominated by Barbie and Oppenheimer.

The awards ceremony takes place in Los Angeles on March 10th.
