Cork is under a status orange wind warning as Storm Bram hits the country this morning.
The warning is in effect from now, and runs until 3pm.
Kerry, Wexford and Waterford are under the same warning.
14 counties in the west and the midlands will come under an orange warning from 10, while all other counties are under a yellow warning until 9pm.
Cork is also under a status yellow rain warning until 9am this morning.
Wandesford Quay, Union Quay and Lavitt's Quay in the city will be closed from 8am this morning due to anticipated flooding, with high tide set for 8.30am.
Speaking to RedFM News, Director of Services at Cork City Council, David Joyce, is asking road users to be extra cautious and allow more time for their journey this morning.
"We would advise motorists to please take extra time and give extra care and attention because there may be debris that has blown on to the roads, there may be branches, there may be other debris that is around the corner, so please - slow down.
"There also may be spot flooding, drains or shores may have become blocked overnight as debris has fallen into them."
