Thousands of Leaving Cert students in Cork will get a first round offer from the CAO today.
More than 84 thousand applications were made to the CAO this year, with offers available online at 2pm.
It's expected points for college courses will go up, after a significant rise in the number of top grades awarded after exam results were released last week.
Betty McLaughlin, former President of the Institute of Guidance Counsellors, has this advice for students.
"Don't panic, have your CAO number ready, have your password ready so you can log on and see what choice you have been offered.
"Follow the simple instructions and you will not lose any place to which you are entitled.
"Don't miss the deadline. While your offer comes out at 2pm today, the deadline list 3pm on September 13th.
"If you don't accept your place by then your place will be offered to another applicant."
