This funding is part of a 360 million euro package to improve active transport and greenways nationally.

The money will be split between Cork City and County for numerous transport and greenway projects including road improvements in Lehenaghmore, progress cycle routes in Carrigaline, Ringaskiddy, and Passage West, and to support Safe Route to School projects in Cork.

Junior Transport Minister Jerry Buttimer has described this investment as a significant milestone of transport investment for Cork.
