Irish Rail passengers in Cork experienced severe delays this morning.
Several of Iarnród Éireann's Cork services on the Cork/Dublin and Cork/Tralee lines were delayed by up to an hour.
Two of Iarnród Éireann's Cork/Mallow trains were cancelled because of a technical issue and this caused knock-on delays to other Cork services during the peak morning commuter period.
Irish Rail says that the technical issue was not due to the hot weather, as had been speculated on social media.
