Concert promoter Peter Aiken says there is a huge appetite for live music in Cork.
He was speaking ahead of Ed Sheeran's arrival in Cork at the end of the week as part of his world tour which will see him travel around the globe over the next three years.
The singer songwriter didn't disappoint in Croke Park at the weekend where he wowed over 150,000 over two nights with his dramatic "In The Round" concerts.
The rotating stage has been specially designed to have no blind spots for the audience and offers 360 degree views of the action, he also has a band on board and pyrotechnics which all add to the event.
Ed Sheeran kicked off his world tour at the new Pairc Ui Chaoimh stadium in 2018 over three nights which established him as a firm favourite among Leesiders and even prompted RedFM to get in on the action and lend their support to the Shape of You singer as we changed our name to EdFM and as we do it all over again this week Ed will also ring out across the city from the landmark Shandon Bells.
Speaking to RedFM News in the past hour Peter Aiken of Aiken Promotions says Ed is delighted to be coming back to Cork for two nights.
"I can't wait - he kicked off the world tour in 2018 there.
"He has great memories of Cork, and he was a lot of relatives there, it's going to be a great night for him too.
"The stage is going to look spectacular in the round right in the centre of the pitch. All the reports from Dublin was that people had never seen the likes of it.
"The stage is 360 degrees, the stage is moving all the time, it goes up and down, people can see him at all times.
"I've seen him many times but this is truly spectacular - it's jaw dropping."
