A mother says The Irish Community Air Ambulance were at her house in 7 minutes after her son was involved in a farming accident.

Olivia Cotter from Doneraile said her son TJ was helping out on the farm at home when he went to climb on a tractor but missed his footing and went under the machine.

The Irish Community Air Ambulance are encouraging runners to sign up for the Dublin Marathon to raise funds for the organisation so they can continue the work for their patients .

The Helicopter Emergency Medical Service Air Ambulance works in partnership with the National Ambulance Service and responds to to serious emergency and trauma calls from its base in Rathcool every day of the year.

Speaking to RedFM News, Olivia Cotter describes how the service helped her son.

"The next thing I knew was I got a call just to see that there had been an accident and I ran over across the road and he was on the ground, he was fully conscious and everything but he had a lot of blood coming from his ear and the side of his eye.

"So obviously the emergency services had been contacted and they passed the air ambulance backstage.

"We are about a 30 minute drive from the base in Rathcool, but they were landed in the field in seven minutes."
