A Cork mother has thanked the ambulance crew who helped her deliver her baby as they sped towards Cork University Maternity Hospital.

The Irish Examiner is reporting today that Ruth Hally from Boreenmanna Road gave birth to a baby girl, Jo, in the back of an ambulance after she went into labour a month before her due date.

Both mother and baby safely arrived at CUMH shortly after.
