The Money Advice and Budgeting Service in Cork says more people are spiralling into debt.
There has been a 10% rise in the amount of caseloads across the county since the start of this year.
Speaking to RedFM News, Ursula Collins from MABS in Cork says the financial service is now supporting 190 new clients every month:
"So we often find that the first 10 minutes of the phone call, needing to express how anxious they are for themselves for their family, for their household, and we need to give people time to listen to them and then what are the key priorities that they want us to assist them with."
