Cork is receiving a major allocation of gardai to support high visibility policing in the city
36 new recruits from the Garda college are being allocated to the Cork City Garda Division
This brings the total number of probationer gardaí allocated to County Cork this year to 76, the largest since the Garda College re-opened in 2014.
It's understood the new recruits will initially be stationed at Anglesea Street before some are moved to the suburbs
