Cork Farmers to protest at Monday's County Council meeting

The protest is part of the IFA’s ‘Enough is Enough’ campaign which aims to highlight farmers' frustration and anger at regulations being imposed on them

Farmers say the over-regulation and over-complicated schemes are adding extra costs at a time when the cost of doing business has rocketed

Speaking to RedFM News Conor O'Leary of the IFA in Cork says farmers are at breaking point and need additional supports

"We're looking here at a new expenditure now around the nitrates thing,  we expect there'll be a new range of measures that we have to undertake and farmers will have to borrow for this. So we are looking here now for certainty, we're looking for a seven or eight year period where there will be no further change while people pay off the new expenditure that's going to come at them"
