Cork County Council has activated a Level One flood response plan in East Cork.
Pumping arrangements are in place at locations prone to flooding and crews are monitoring the situation.
A 24 hour Status Yellow warning for rain is in place for Cork.
Caroline Leahy of Midleton and East Cork Flood Protection Group says residents and business owners are living in fear of flooding again after Storm Babet 2 years ago:
"Extremely frustrating and it's extremely scary for us, because we're not experts in this but we are expected to keep our eyes on every ball, we can't be expected to do that. There has to be some sort of universal approach to managing the situation."
