The city's Christmas lights will be switched on during the third week of this month.
The Council say the traditional lighting plays a key role in setting a festive mood in the city and is much-loved by tens of thousands of people during the busiest trading period of the year.
City Hall says the LED Lights require 75% less energy than a traditional bulb.
The Council have also confirmed that "Glow- A Cork Christmas Celebration" which includes the ferris wheel on Grand Parade, will return to Bishop Lucey Park on the 25th of this month.
The city's bridge lighting programme will also remain unchanged due to public safety.
