SummerSING!, an children's arts festival has opened up places for Ukrainian children in Cork.
The festival, which will run from July 11th - 15th, is welcoming children from the ages of 7 - 14, and is also looking for volunteers in order to help the children feel welcome.
Festival Manager, Mary Watson said, “Not all of these children will speak English so we’d love it if there was anyone who could work with us to make sure the children get the best out of the festival. We predominantly work in the arts so we know that music and singing can transcend language barriers, but having some help would be amazing for us to make SummerSING! as inclusive as possible!”
The festival is now looking for Ukrainian speakers, musicians, dancers, and anyone who may be able to help make these children with translating songs, aiding in communication with the children, and possibly teaching a Ukrainian song to the festival participants.
