A continuing lack of rainfall is one of the reasons the county has been put under a Water Conservation Order.
Uisce Éireann has put the hosepipe ban, for the county and not the city, in place until the 16th of September.
Speaking to RedFM News, Brian O'Leary from Uisce Eireann says rain is crucial for their supplies:
"The rainfall in Cork across the last three months is down 30-40% on long term averages so we do really need to see a good period of above average rainfall to see our resources recover and when you combine the low sources with the bigger demand that we're coming now into tourism season as well, in particular areas like West Cork, a lot of our schemes are coming under pressure."
