Cork commuters face disruption as work on a €8 million signalling project gets underway at Kent Station later this month.

Rail services will be suspended between Cork and Mallow from Saturday, October 16 to Tuesday, October 26 and bus transfers will operate in both directions.

Iarnród Éireann has advised customers that it is set to commission a new signalling system at Kent Station and that essential track works will also take place at a number of locations between Mallow and Cork during this time.

The €8 million signalling project will replace a mechanical signalling system and will also facilitate the future track layout
modifications for the Cork commuter rail service improvements planned under the Cork Metropolitan Area Transport Strategy.
