Although Christmas is one of the most beautiful times of the year, for many it is a time of extreme financial pressure.
As people race to get presents, food and drink, all to celebrate the big day, it can leave them drawn extremely thin.
Garvey's Supervalu in Cobh believe that everyone should enjoy Christmas without this added pressure and so have set up their own Christmas package initiative.
This will allow customers to get in contact with the shop, and confidentially have a Christmas food package dropped to their door free of charge.

Taking to their Twitter account they posted a red graphic which read:
"Dear Customers,
We at Garvey’s Supervalu Cobh want to ensure you that we are here for you this Christmas. We understand that Christmas can be a difficult time of the year for many people in our community financially.
If you’re finding it tough to make ends meet and need some help this Christmas, please drop us a message and our team can arrange for a simple discretionary Food / Christmas package to be dropped at your door. It will be entirely confidential. Please don’t hesitate to ask for help.”
Last night the shop held a Christmas tree lighting where selection boxes and goodie bags were given to those in attendance.
