A City Councillor says the spike in anti-social behaviour coming up to Bonfire night is unacceptable.
Fianna Fáil councillor Colm Kelleher says he's been contacted by a number of upset residents in Castle Park in Ballincollig recently.
Residents say that people are under-age drinking, dumping rubbish and lighting fires on the enclosed green behind the houses and in the alleyway by Aldi.
They're calling for gates to be installed so that only residents have access to the area.
Speaking to RedFM News, Councillor Colm Kelleher says it's unnecessary stress on the fire service while they're on strike:
"The stresses that are on fire service are under here in Ballincollig. We all know what's going on there at the moment and hopefully there's light at the end of the tunnel their boss and you know, in particularly coming up to Bonfire Night, something needs to be done that these residents are living up there. A lot of people are elderly residents up there living basically in fear of what's going to happen in relation antisocial behaviour and fire this time of year you know."
