Cillian Murphy says he hasn't thought about being the first Irish-born man to win Best Actor at the Oscars.

The Cork native has been speaking on the green carpet of the Oscar Wilde Party ahead of the awards show on Sunday night, and says he's just there to have fun.

If he comes home with the trophy, Cillian will be the third Irish-born actor to win an Academy Award.

He's been speaking about what it's like to be nominated for his role in 'Oppenheimer':

"Yeah it feels wonderful. You know we've none of us expected that the film would do so well and you know the thing that always strikes me is when people come and say they've seen the film, four and five, six times you know that's kind of phenomenal and young and old and boys and girls, it's amazing."
