The 32 foot yacht with five people on board was anchored near Dooneen point in Dunmanus bay when its anchor began to drag during poor weather.
The skipper became concerned and contacted Valentia Coastguard.
The yacht was located and was escorted to Lawrence Cove Marina in Bere Island where she tied up at 6am.
A small craft warning was in effect at the time and weather in Dunmanus was recorded as Force 5 or 6 at the time.
