There's a call to bring in more garda reserves to let gardai out on the beat.
It's in the wake of the latest attack in Dublin city centre - three men in their 20s were allegedly attacked near Temple Bar on Friday night.
The tourists were assaulted on Fownes Street Upper, just after ten o'clock.
They're being treated in St James's Hospital.
Local Councillor Danny Byrne says people in the city need to see more officers on the streets:
"I'm very sorry to hear about another attack that which has occurred again. For me the crucial issues here is the visibility of uniformed Gardaí. When we have the Joint Policing Committee with the Assistant Commissioner and Senior Gardaí, it's something that I'm always honing in on, is the visibility of Gardaí marching up and down the street."
