Traffic lights need to be re-sequenced in Douglas Village.
That's according to a City Councillor who says the current sequence of traffic lights is causing huge tailbacks in the area.
Local residents say there's chaos at certain points of the day, especially around the school run in mornings and in the evenings as people return home from work.
Independent councillor Mick Finn says the problem is that cars coming off the slip road from the N40 ring road and the traffic lights under the underpass are preventing the flow of traffic into the village.
Speaking to RedFM News, Councillor Finn says constant traffic is a headache for commuters:
"They said it is just so frustrating. Some of them can't get out of their estates, others are finding it difficult to, you know, to drop off kids to the Gaelscoil and then people, you know, trying to traverse the village in Douglas or you know, can't get across and it's very frustrating for them. When this was being planned, there was a public consultation. And a lot of these issues actually came out and revised by people at the time. So I've just asked for an updated report as to what has been tweaked if anything so far. And if it hasn't been tweaked to date, it just needs to be done in the next number of weeks to get it right."
