A councillor is calling for a smoking and vaping ban at public amenity spaces including areas outside playgrounds.
Cork County Council's Corporate Policy Group will discuss the issue, and a ban could be seen later in the year.
Speaking to RedFM News, Fianna Fail councillor Audrey Buckley says the current by-laws need to be extended:
"Right now, the law is for within the boundaries of a playground area. No smoking and vaping. I'm speaking of parents sitting on a wall smoking and vaping. So I would like to see a ban within so many yards within those boundaries."
