A Cork campaigner with Better Maternity Care has revealed that partners are still being restricted from attending antenatal appointments
Linda Kelly from Glanmire is calling for an end to all maternity restrictions, including the ban on siblings being able to visit their new brother or sister.
Despite the majority of restrictions being lifted in 2021, campaigners says some units are continuing to limit visiting.
Linda Kelly from the 'Better Maternity Care' group has previously spoken out to RedFM News about her "lonely experience" at Cork University Maternity Hospital in July 2020 as she gave birth to her daughter.
She outlined how she endured most of her birthing journey alone.
Linda says visiting restrictions in some maternity hospitals continues to have a negative impact on families.
"It's much better than it was, but it's not back to where people expected it to be.
"People want to be able to go to an antenatal appointment, bring their partner if they want to.
"People want to be able to bring their other children in to visit a newborn, and I think that's entirely reasonable now in this period pos-Covid."
