Discover the historic bridges of Cork while making a difference!

Kieran O’Leary, CEO of Diabetes Ireland said “these walks are proving extremely popular, it encourages people to walk their city and to discover the history behind Cork City centre. In today’s society, we simply don’t take the time to look around and take in the many recent changes that have taken place in Cork. . This walk will provide an opportunity for participants to walk at their own pace and see how old and modern Cork bridges intertwine”.

Walkers can take as long as they like to complete the walk with the circular route taking in the North and South channels of the beautiful River Lee and Cork’s historic centre and the revitalised dockland area.

Walkers will be given an opportunity to decide how their funds will be used to support the diabetes community in Cork. Our Care Centre is celebrating its fourth year of delivering a range of vital services for people with Diabetes. Our numbers continue to grow and in 2019, we delivered a service to over 8,900 people. Kieran added “We believe in giving people the choice to decide on how the funds they raise are used. I hope this event will spur people on to get active and challenge themselves and their friends and help us to increase awareness of Diabetes and support local Cork services.
