The Irish Blood Transfusion Service says it’s now operating Sunday clinics due to critically low stock.
Two clinics will operate in Cork over the next month as B Negative blood stock has plummeted to just one day’s supply.
Speaking to RedFM News, Julianne Kelly from the IBTS in Cork is appealing to new donors to replenish blood stock:
"The blood stock is so low at the moment that we are holding two Sunday clinics. One will be this Sunday the 29th of June at Gaelscoil Ui Riordan in Ballincollig, and the next will be at St.Finbarr's on the 13th of July. Our panel is getting older and we need new young donors coming through the door."
