A mother from Blarney, whose daughter died from an eating disorder two years ago, is calling for GPs to be adequately trained in the area.
It comes as figures reveal a rise in the number of children who have been referred to HSE services in the Cork and Kerry region.
Speaking to RedFM News, Paula Crotty says she's aware of one family who was let down by their GP:
"There's a family in Cork and they went to their GP with their young child and for three months they were asking their GP for a referral for their daughter and that was not compiled and their child ended up in hospital for a lengthy time. Our services are not adequate and our teaching to GPs is not adequate."
