The average monthly rent in Cork city is now €2, 213.
The latest Daft.ie report shows rents rose by an average of almost 14% in the city in the space of a year and 10% in the county where the average rent is now €1,621.
Author of the report, economist Ronan Lyons says rents are increasing throughout the country:
"Rents are increasing pretty much everywhere. Some of the biggest increases over the last 18 months, even the last 24 months, have been in Limerick city. These are rents on the open market so sitting tenants might have a different experience."
