The Army Bomb Disposal team was scrambled to Douglas yesterday evening after a suspicious device was discovered along the River in the area
The discovery was made shortly after 4pm and Gardaí and the Army Explosives Ordnace Disposcal team responded to the scene.
On arrival, a cordon was established which was manned by the Gardai and maintained for the duration of the operation.
Due to the nature of the area in question being subject to tidal conditions the army bomb disposal team worked on completing the disposal of the item across the evening
