An Post says it has been handling Christmas levels of parcels since August
Volumes are up by as much as 30% on the same week last year
The company has confirmed to RedFM News it's investing in new sorting equipment and technology in preparation for the Christmas rush, and these works have caused occasional postal delays
Staff are working 24 hour shifts and throughout the weekend to ensure speedy parcel delivery.
