An inquest into the death of a young Cork boy will get underway today in the city.

13 year old Jimmy Horgan died in November 2020 when he was struck by a lorry on Sheares Street.

Presentation Brothers College student Jimmy Horgan from Blackrock died on the 17th of November 2020 when he was hit by a truck on Sheares Street.

Staff from the nearby Mercy University Hospital were at the scene within minutes of the incident but were unable to revive the child.

Jimmy is survived by his parents Ernest and Rachel and his 4 siblings.

His inquest is taking place at a sitting of the Coroner’s Court at the Washington Street Courthouse.
