SIPTU members at the AbbVie manufacturing facility in Carrigtwohill have served notice of industrial action for next Monday.
The dispute concerns pay and anti-union practices being implemented by the pharmaceutical company.
Andrea Cleere from SIPTU says the initial stage of industrial action will take the form of a work to rule:
"Members won't be working overtime, there'll be strict adhereence to Standard Operation Procedures. And that there will be a need to be a 4 week notice to chane shift, so the members will enforce that."
