A Yacht Is At The Bottom Of Cork Harbour After It Broke It's Moorings At Whitepoint Marina Last Night

The 44 foot yacht from Fenit in Co Kerry was one of two yachts to break away from the pier close to Cobh last night during Storm Ellen.

One of the vessels beached itself on the shore and was re-floated this morning, however the other vessel broke apart when it hit the concrete breakwater and sank within an hour.

No one was injured in the incident.

A clean up operation is due to get underway at the pier, with divers and a crane expected to take part in the salvage.
