A Trader On The Coal Quay Says The Layout Of The Area Has Had A Devastating Impact On Traders There

The layout was changed in recent years.

Those operating stalls in the area have previously expressed concern that despite investment on the quay back in 2018, the new format is not in-keeping with the traditional market and as a result it was branded a ghost town.

Traders say they had one of their worst Christmases on record on the Coal Quay, and say it can't be blamed on Covid-19 as people have stopped shopping there as the stalls have been located so far down the quay.

Speaking to RedFM News Cole Quay trader Kathleen Barry says traders are no longer in a prominent position on the quay and the area is dying:
