A new report shows there's potential for growth in the hospitality sector.
Research from the Vintners Federation of Ireland shows that 72 percent of pub-owners reported that turnover is similar or better than pre-Covid levels.
The same percentage also said they turned over a profit in 2022 when a survey was done on 514 members nationally.
The VFI say their members continue to struggle with spiralling energy costs and other large expenses such insurance.
Speaking to RedFM News, Michael O’Donovan from the VFI in Cork says although costs are high, it's good to see publicans turning a profit again:
"It's been a steady success over the last number of months all be it with energy and business input costs have gone through the roof and have seen a steady rise over the last number of months. But I think the future for pubs is very optimistic and hopefully very good in the in the coming years."
