A Hug For You nominated for An Post Book of the Year Award

A book inspired by Cork’s Adam King and his virtual hug has been nominated for the prestigious An Post Book of the Year Award.

A Hug for You by Adam’s father David King was recently announced as the winner of the children’s book of the year.

It has gone forward for the public vote and if it wins it would be the first children’s book to receive the award. The public's vote will be taken into consideration by an executive panel of judges who will decide the overall winner of An Post Irish Book of the Year 2021.

There are 6 books nominated and the winner will be announced on December 8th during a one hour television special hosted by Oliver Callan on RTE One at 10:35pm.

The other nominees up for the award are Your One Wild and Precious Life by Maureen Gaffney, Aisling and the City by Emer McLysaght and Sarah Breen, Did Ye Hear Mammy Died? by Seamus O'Reilly, We Don’t Know Ourselves: A Personal History of Ireland Since 1958 by Fintan O'Toole and Beautiful World, Where Are You? by Sally Rooney.
