Motorist clocked travelling 203km/h in a 120km/h zone in North Cork over the Bank Holiday weekend

Gardaí say they detected the driver on the M8 at Ballinglanna North, Kilworth.

An extensive Garda Roads Policing operation was in place for the October Bank Holiday weekend where Gardaí checked over 670 thousand vehicles for speeding.

9 serious collisions took place during this period where two people died and 9 people were treated for serious injuries

A woman in her 80's was killed in a multi-vehicle collision involving 2 cars and a truck in Crookstown in Cork

It happened at around half 9 in the morning on Friday the 27th of October.

Meanwhile a man in his 20's was killed in a single vehicle collision in Waterford.

157 people been killed on Irish roads so far this year.

11 of those deaths have happened on Cork roads.
