A Cork woman has pleaded guilty to a year long campaign of harassment against a former Cork TD

Sonya Egan of The Lawn, Lios Cara, Killeens was arraigned at Cork Circuit Criminal Court today.

She pleaded guilty to two counts of harrassment directed at former Sinn Féin TD Jonathan O'Brien on various dates between 2018 and 2019.

She also pleaded guilty to harassing a woman named as Laura O'Connell.

Defence Barrister Anthony Sammon was granted an extension of legal aid to facilitate the commissioning of a report from a consultant psychiatrist in relation to "certain difficulties" experienced by his client.

Victim impact reports will also be prepared before sentencing.

No background was given in relation to the case, however the full facts will be heard at the sentencing hearing later his year.

Judge Helen Boyle adjourned the case for mention on the 22nd of February to fix a date for the sentencing hearing.
