67 new or enhanced bus services have been proposed to connect more towns and town-lands nationwide.
The Connecting Ireland Rural Mobility Plan will see 20 of the routes delivered by Bus Éireann in Cork, Galway, Waterford and Clare.
Some of the routes are already in operation, while others are in the procurement, and planning and design stages.
Among the routes servicing Cork are Dursey Sound to Kilcrohane, Ennis to Whitegate, Macroom to Cork and Skibbereen to Killarney.
The National Transport Authority says that the services will "develop connectivity and mobility in rural areas."
