Cork Prison is one of the newest facilities in the system, yet prison officers say it is the most overcrowded in the country

Speaking to RedFM News Gabriel Keaveny of the IPOA says "dark days" lie ahead unless action is taken

"Our members have to face this every single day at the coalface, and we have said, at this stage that if there is not something done in the absolute short term, then we don't like warning about the future, but we are saying there are dark days ahead in the prison service, if there is not something done"
