A 38-year-old man who is accused of dragging his grandmother down a set of stairs in February has been charged with her manslaughter.

Brian Nnamdi Ogbo of Garrydhu Drive, Kilmoney Road, Carrigaline appeared at Cork District Court.

82-year-old Stella Nnamdi died at Cork University Hospital on the 25th of February, two days after she was allegedly dragged down the stairs of her home in Carrigaline, and pushed out the front door.

The court previously heard Ogbo’s mother phoned Gardaí on Sunday the 23rd of February to say her son was attacking her and her mother and had produced a knife during the incident.

Solicitor Donal Daly today requested a psychiatric report.

Judge Mary Dorgan adjourned the case until next Monday the 7th of July.
