2 teens taken to CUH as car went on fire after crashing into bollard in Knocknaheeny

Two teenagers were taken to hospital after their car went on fire after crashing into a bollard in Knocknaheeny last night.

Gardaí and the fire service attended the scene at Kilmore Road at around 7.20pm yesterday evening.

The two teens were taken to CUH by the national ambulance service to be treated for NON life threatening injuries.

A large group of teens gathered and Gardaí say a number of public order incidents were reported in the area.

Second Officer with Cork City Fire Brigade Victor Shine says Gardaí are investigating the scene:

"Yesterday evening  Cork City Fire Brigade were requested to attend a road traffic collision. On the north side of the city where one vehicle had hit a concrete bollard. The car caught fire and there were two casualties taken by HSE ambulance to Cork University Hospital for medical treatment. And Gardaí are investigating the scene."
