The Junior and Leaving Certificate exams get underway this morning.
7,376 students will sit the Leaving Cert and Leaving Cert Applied in Cork, with 8,376 students sitting the Junior Cert exam in the city and county.
Nationally, 140,457 candidates are registered to do the exams - the first time the figure has passed 140,000.
Speaking to RedFM News, Aaron Wolfe, Principal of Coláiste Éamonn Rís says students shouldn’t dwell on each exam once it’s over:
"After the exam, it's naturally to do the post-mortem but remember, there's nothing you can do. The exam is done. You've done your best. Go home. and start studying for the next exam. Don't get hung up on what you wrote. You have no idea what the examiners are looking for."
