AOC Commercials are currently seeking a qualified Commercial Vehicle Roadworthiness Tester (CVRT) to join their busy RSA-authorised CVR Test Centre, carrying out inspections on both Light Commercial Vehicles (LCV) and Heavy Commercial Vehicles (HCV)
The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring vehicles meet Road Safety Authority (RSA) standards, contributing to safer roads and compliance with Irish roadworthiness legislation.
As a business, AOC operate using LEAN principles, with a strong focus on efficiency, standardisation, and waste reduction. You will be expected to actively contribute to the continuous improvement of processes, workflow, and testing quality within the centre.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct CVRT inspections on LCVs and HCVs in accordance with the RSA Vehicle Tester Manual and CVRT testing procedures
- Identify, assess, and accurately record vehicle defects and failures
- Ensure all vehicles tested comply with road safety and emissions standards
- Complete and maintain accurate digital test records in line with RSA systems
- Communicate test results clearly with customers and colleagues
- Maintain a safe, clean, and efficient working environment
- Actively support LEAN practices, including process improvement and elimination of inefficiencies
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across operations, quality, and customer service
- Adhere to all RSA compliance, quality, and audit standards
Key Requirements
- RSA-authorised CVRT Tester (LCV, HCV or both)
- Recognised qualification in vehicle mechanics (minimum NFQ Level 6 / National Craft Certificate or equivalent)
- Proven experience in commercial vehicle maintenance and repair (minimum 12 months; additional experience required for HCV testing)
- Strong knowledge of vehicle systems and diagnostics
- Excellent attention to detail and safety awareness
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Full, clean driving licence
- Strong communication and customer service skills
Desirable
- Authorisation across both LCV & HCV categories
- Experience in a high-volume CVR test centre environment
- Up-to-date CPD training in line with RSA requirements
- Previous involvement in LEAN, process improvement, or quality systems
