Almost 90% of parents worry about the types of content their children may see online.
That's according to a new Vodafone survey which adds more than half of parents are restricting kids' access to the internet as a result.
Their biggest concerns are children being exposed to strangers, explicit content and potential cyber attacks or viruses.
ISPCC Chief Executive John Church says parents need to take an interest in what their kid's are doing.
"I think first and foremost know exactly what your child is doing online, what sites they're visiting and how often they're visiting as well.
"It's really about taking an interest in what they're doing, so know what your child is accessing, be interested and involved, and help them build that capacity to know when they encounter danger, because that's pretty likely to happen in this world."
