Weekend Rooster

Saturday | 10am - 12

The Weekend Rooster is a light and breezy way to wake up on those lazy weekend mornings. The show is full with great music, gossip from the world of entertainment, Weekend Anthem record , reviews on the latest movies with 'The Movie Bit extra' and The Shane Bucks MP3 Game, all with some chat inbetween.

Shane Buckley or sometimes known as Shane Bucks is the youngest member of the Red FM team both on air and off. He caught the radio bug at the age of just 10 when he use to host "live" radio shows from his bedroom to none other then himself. Early in 2006 Shane had befriended his now long time friend Stevie G who was first to help him out and at the age of 15 he walked through the doors of Red FM for the first time and hasn't left yet.

Shane is big into new music and movies but away from the radio gig he plays the drums and has hosted several Web TV shows, written for various newsletters and after finishing school with marks he described as "eh…ok?" (which he strictly blames on his love for radio because instead of taking school notes he use to be coming up with ideas for radio shows and had a ridiculously short attention span, just ask his friend Dava..) he began studying for a qualification in Broadcasting and Journalism in Dublin in 2010.

Now, with hundreds of cups of tea under his belt, Shane Buckley can be heard presenting The Weekend Rooster, every Saturday from 10am and Sunday from 8am.

Shane loves to chat so get in touch:
