Caroline's path to working in radio began when she was in transition year. "I needed work experience and didn't know exactly what I wanted to do with my life, who does at 15? All I knew was I loved music and I was no good at taking orders." So armed with this knowledge Caroline sought out one of the very few recording studios in Cork City, knocked on the door one evening and asked for 2 weeks work experience.

"I think I bullied the guy into saying yes because I literally just turned up on his doorstep almost Mrs. Doyle style, ah go on ya will, ya will, he said yes and I spent 2 weeks making endless cups of coffee, answering the door and hanging out with some very cool bands". Through this work experience, Caroline made a contact in RTE Cork who gave her jobs here and there and for the next 2 years gained some invaluable radio experience.

After school Caroline studied Media Studies at St. Johns College, and staying in the media world she went on to work for The Irish Examiner for 2 years, "I never liked having one set job, I got bored easily", working between Editorial, Marketing, Admin and Tele-Sales was right up her alley.

Obviously moving between departments wasn't enough however, and Caroline soon upped sticks and spent some time travelling through Australia and New Zealand. On her return she answered an ad for a job in the brand new Cork radio station RedFM and the rest as they say is history…

Caroline has been with Corks RedFM since the start, taking a year out to study in Dublin and now runs the Production Department Monday to Friday and wakes Cork up every Saturday morning from 7am on the Weekend Rooster. "I've finally found a job that keeps me entertained every day!!"
