Young woman killed after being hit by a car in Co Kerry
The incident occurred yesterday evening in the village of Glenflesk.
At around quarter past 7 last night, the 26 year old woman was knocked down on the N22 at Glenflesk village.
She was pronounced dead at the scene a short time later, and the Coroner was notified.
Her body was removed to University Hospital Kerry, where a post mortem examination will take place.
The road was closed for a time to facilitate a Garda forensic examination, but has since reopened.
Gardai are appealing for witnesses.
