Cork County Council accused of neglecting tenants
That's according to a Councillor Diarmaid O'Cadhla who says it's the role of local authorities to enforce standards in rental accommodation
Under current legislation rented homes need to equipped with heating, ventilation, hot and cold water as well as cooking and bathroom facilities.
However a recent Prime Time Investigates programme revealed the dire conditions of a property in Cobh where the tenant was without these facilities.
Speaking to RedFM News, Diarmaid O'Cadhla says the Council are fully aware of the conditions of this property and have failed to address the issue.
